my father obtained a Master of Arts in Security Studies from the Naval Postgraduate School in 2014. as a result, our family became increasingly aware of the ethics around and governmental use of surveillance for national security. his desires for my digital security felt both freeing and restricting- this interactive installation intended for the viewer to consider the question of watched and watcher, the secure and insecure, by following a subversive narrative told through a light box and eight manila folders of redacted text and imagery.
